Description

Complex Event Processing (CEP) systems have been designed to detect situations of interest in real-time from the observation of some primitive events that occur in a monitored environment, based on some user-defined, declarative rules.

Currently, one of the main limitation to the wide adoption of CEP systems is the complexity in writing rules. This project aims at developing automated tools for the definition of CEP rules. The student will contribute develop novel techniques to generate CEP rules starting from the analysis of historical data and will evaluate such techniques in some real application scenarios.
