Abstract

Synchronization in distributed systems has been researched extensively. For specific setups it is possible to improve upon the existing synchronization concepts by extending them with additional knowledge and measurements on the situations concerned. In this project we investigate how to effectively synchronize distributed Personal Space Tracker devices on a local network, and develop and implement clock synchronization methods to fulfull the set requirements for these devices. The target accuracy for PST devices is 8 microseconds, even under heavy network stress.
