Description

In the Dutch Ships and Sailors project (http://Dutchshipsandsailors.nl), we have linked a number of maritime historical datasets using Semantic Web technologies. This allows for new types of research questions for historians. However, the current system is complex and not easy to use. In this project, a student would work in close collaboration with maritime historians to investigate the historical research questions that could be supported by the DSS data cloud and a) either extend the data cloud with new historical datasets or b) provide a user interface or visualizations for analysing the linked data, in the context of this research question.

We are looking for students interested in working with domain experts, with affinity with Semantic Technology/Linked Data *and/or* UI implementation.
