The landportal (http://landportal.info/) is an information portal that aggregates data about World wide land occupations and expose this open data as a single coherent data set. So far, this data set is poorly connected to external data sets. The majority of the data integration is left to the data consumer. For instance to get external information about a specific country, the data consumer will have to map the cities from LandPortal to another source such as Geonames or Wikipedia.
The data publication model of Linked Data allows for pre-integrating the data on the publisher side, thereby increasing its usefulness and usability. The objective of this project is to assess the feasibility of the publication of the data from LandPortal as Linked Data and implement a concrete example of data publication/consumption.
Goal of the project: Study the data model of the data land portal holds. Propose an RDF-based model and URI scheme for the exposition of the data from land portal. Propose a list of other data sets to link the land portal to. Implement a prototype data publication and consumption interface.
