Abstract

The SVB is currently implementing a large-scale IT project in which the primary process is being renewed and rebuilt in keeping with more recent insights. In this new application environment, middleware and the integration of a large number of Oracle packages will play a main role. Processes will not be completed within a single package, but through the integration or joint use of different packages. This means that pinpointing the exact cause of a malfunction of failure can be problematic. The aim of this project would be to see whether there is a particular method which could be applied in order to discover the Rout Cause of the problem in cases of system failure (Root Cause Analysis (RCA)).

The results should comprise a general model-based exploration and description of a method to apply RCA in the Oracle Fusion environment. In the future, this model could be used to sole unexpected errors automatically, without (manual) intervention.
