There is an ongoing growth in music festivals in the Netherlands since 2014. At these festivals, much security is needed to control aggressive behavior in order to ensure it does not escalate. The goal of this study is to try to understand the spread of aggression between people on a festival through agent-based modeling. In order to do so, it is important to understand by what aggression is affected, what effects alcohol and other drugs have on aggression and finally where aggression occurs at festivals. Once these questions are answered, they can be implemented in the model which should be able to firstly help to understand aggression at festivals and secondly can predict aggression at festivals. Using this simulation, the goal is to research which types of interventions successfully can prevent aggressive behavior from turning into fights.
