Description

Game content generation has become a necessity in the context of large online gaming platforms. Driven by the large number of users, new, and preferably adapted content needs to be generated "on-the-fly", addressing different difficulty levels and different playing scenario. In this project, we evaluate the possibility of using state-of-the-art hardware - specifically, GPUs and multi-core CPUs - to respond to the performance requirements of game content generation. We specifically focus on a puzzle game, called Lunar Lockout, and investigate different ways to adopt modern hardware for on-demand puzzle generation. The ultimate goal of the project is to build a prototype system (both hardware and software), provide a thorough performance analysis for it, and discuss its feasibility in a real-life scenario.
