Description
Smart coaching strategies will be investigated and designed that will stimulate young people (age 18-25 yrs) to have sufficient physical activity by making use of their social networks. For this project, a multidisciplinary collaboration between the department of Artificial Intelligence the VU University Campus, the youth and health research group of the EMGO institute and Philips Research has started in 2012. It is possible to define a master project within the scope of this research project by contacting Natalie van der Wal. A few goals of the research projects are: 1. developing unobtrusive monitoring using activity levels, location and social interaction, 2. development of a coaching engine that teaches new habits to the participants, helps with their goal setting and increases social support and social companionship, 3. an evaluation of the system by testing the system on two experimental groups and one control group (n=250). Also during development evaluation will be performed with a smaller test group (n=50).
