Before you start:

During the project

  • Contact your 'daily' supervisor at least once a week
  • Contact your supervisor every month
    • report progress
    • indicate problems

  • We strongly encourage you to give a mid-term presentation during your project. If this is not possible at your placement, you can always give a talk at the IBIVU, please contact your VU-supervisor for an appointment. You could present:
    • your approach
    • preliminary results
    • any problems

  • Final Presentation always (also) at the IBIVU
    • Get approvement from your supervisor(s) to give your presentation
    • you should hand in a draft version of your thesis 1 week prior to your presentation
    • Make an appointment
    • Please check the Presentation Guide Lines
    • You may should ask for some feedback on your slides, before you give the final presentation.
  • Project Thesis
  • Get the Master Project Evaluation Form completed by your supervisors
    • Grades are awarded by your IBIVU supervisor; daily supervisor makes a suggestion
    • Final grade is based on work (1/2), thesis (1/3) and presentation (1/6)
    • Your thesis and a copy of the evaluation form go in the IBIVU thesis archive
    • The grades for your internships must be recorded on a 'Registratieformulier AFSTUDEERSCRIPTIE'. One copy (yellow) of the form goes in our archive, one (white) you must deliver to the Onderwijsburo, and the third (pink) goes home with you.
