Media and Film archives serve many different types of media researchers. To be able to find and contextualize media objects, annotations are needed. One way of getting annotations is through user contributions. techniques include crowdsourcing, nichesourcing. Annotation platforms (accurator) or games-with a purpose (waisda) collect different types of annotations. Furthermore, different types of annotators provide different types of annotations (object-level, emotion-level,...)
