This master thesis discusses the development of new dynamic business ideas in which traditional services are connected to new communication channels. From a commercial perspective, many attractive ideas should be explored further. However, it can be challenging to start the process of converting such an idea to a good product. The thesis describes aspects within the software engineering field of the development of these new business ideas. It discusses the various software engineering methodologies that can be applicable for the development, and how specific design can help the development of the business idea from becoming too inflexible for the changing nature of the idea. Experience from an internship in a Dutch software development company illustrates the aforementioned topics. The company started a new software project, for which the desired outcome was not clear at all at the start, mainly due to the changing nature of the business idea. By changing the software development methodology and designing the system in such a way that the changing parts of the system are isolated, the project is still underway and flexible enough to adapt to and grow along with the changing business idea.
