Abstract
Until recently, most people have relied on TV as a main source of news. People watched news programs, documentaries or live coverage of events, and read up on the latest news on digital services like Teletext.
With the rise of the internet, this all changed. Most people get a large percentage of their news from the internet[1]; for some it has become the only source of news. More recently TV programs have also become available online. These changes provide us with the unique ability to not just rely on TV or traditional digital TV services for news, but to supplement TV programs with other online news sources, like the New York Times[2], Wikipedia[3] or LexisNexis[4].
All these different sources provide people with information about events in the world, though often with (slight) variations in the level of detail, the tone of voice or the political orientation of the content. For an objective point of view, it is therefore crucial to have access to multiple news sources.
This project has the goal of combining these sources and combine TV programs with related news articles.
