  • Time: 13.00-15.00 hours
  • Location: Intertainlab, S111, Building Math & Physics, BL 1081.


  • Each student will have 8 minutes (4 minutes presentation/4 minutes feedback).
  • The supervisor(s) need to be present at the presentation.
  • All students should be present for all the presentations.
  • Thesis Design presentation is part of the overall Thesis Design grade.
  • Requirement for presentation: submit/upload Thesis Design document by 31 January 2014


To register for presentation, each student has to send an email to Ilse Thomson by 27 January 2014 with the following:


  • student name
  • title of thesis
  • supervisor(s)

20 Feb 2014 (Thursday)

On Februari 20, 2014 there’s a second chance to present your Thesis Design Presentation.

  • Time: 09.00-11.00 hours.
  • Location: Intertainlab, S111., first floor Building Math. & Physics.


  • You should register for the presentation, the latest by Februari 17, 2014 to Ilse Thomson with the following information:


  • student name
  • title of thesis
  • Supervisor(s)


  • Upload your Thesis Design and Presentation slides on the wiki by Februari 17, 2014 as well.
  • All supervisors need to be present at the slot(s) for their student(s) and are encouraged to stay for a number of presentations to provide feedback and comments to other students as well.
  • The slot for each student will be 8 minutes (4 minutes presentation/4 minutes feedback).
  • The slide set should consist of 5 slides:
  • Title, student name & supervisor(s) names, institution(s)
  • Context & Problem statement
  • Scientific Research Questions
  • Approach & Method
  • Expected outcome and contribution

Week 2: 5-9 January arrange a meeting with supervisor, agree on working/reporting plan, revisit project proposal, assign literature and other material to read Week 3: Tue, 13 Jan, (16:00-17:00) Mid-Term Q&A Session on requirements and structure of Thesis Design Week 3: Fri, 16 Jan: Deliver & discuss first draft with supervisor Week 4: Fri, 23 Jan: Deliver & discuss second draft with supervisor Week 5: Fri, 30 Jan: Upload on final version of Thesis Design on Wiki Week 6: Mon 2 Feb (15:30 - 18:00): Final presentations
